Sometimes I crave a quick fill. A fast lunch and usually all the food that can fill the void will most certainly blow a days worth of sins.
Slice of pizza, a filled sub or baguette, or a sausage roll-may satisfy intermediate craving but really are counter-productive if you want to maintain or lose weight.
I really don’t know what to call this substitute.
It consists of vegetarian sausages baked in a rectangular silicon tray surrounded by chopped tomatoes and garlic covered with a beaten egg wash that is laced with Italian herbs.
At half or even SYN free, I know they are quite filling. All you need is 1cal oil and filling the tray with sausages; place in the garlic and tomatoes and pour over the eggs and herbs. Add some salt and pepper to taste and bake at 180° for up to an hour until the egg is cooked through.
Add a simple garden salad for a tasty low-fat high protein lunch. Alternatively enjoy as a starter to bulk out a dinner if the main course is a little on the hefty side.
